Geller in the framework of the Comparative Research Center SFB 980 \u201cEpisteme in Motion\u201d, is featured at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbl-site.org\/meetings\/Congresses_ProgramBook.aspx?MeetingId=29\">2016 Annual Meeting of the <em>Society of Biblical Literature (SBL)<\/em> in San Antonio, Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lennart Lehmhaus, A03 post-doc research associate, will present preliminary outcomes of the project. In his talk \u201cMedical knowledge, social interactions and authority of tradition in Talmudic texts\u201d (20.11.2016), Lehmhaus surveys rabbinic discourses that facilitated exchanges and transfers of medical concepts.<\/p>\n<p>In the group \u201cReligious competition in Late Antiquity\u201d, Lehmhaus will present a paper on \u201cCompeting for bodies of knowledge: Medical expertise between rabbis and others in Late Antiquity\u201d (21.11.2016) that discusses rabbinic strategies of dealing with medical experts as well as with religious (Christian) experts who engaged in the field of medicine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project A03 \u201eThe Transfer of Medical Episteme in the \u2018Encyclopaedic\u2019 Compilations of Late Antiquity\u201d, run by BabMed Principal Investigator Prof. Markham J.
