Insgesamt wurden \u00fcber 188.000 Seiten von 88 Dokumenten in 21 B\u00e4nden digitalisiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Die Daten des British Foreign & Commonwealth Office stammen u. a. aus den Blaub\u00fcchern (\u00bbBlue books\u00ab) in welchen die diplomatischen Verhandlungen, Noten, Berichte, insbesondere aber die Korrespondenzen zwischen dem Ministerium des Ausw\u00e4rtigen und den Vertretern des britischen Kabinetts im Ausland festgehalten wurden (benannt nach den blauen Umschl\u00e4gen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Neben einer kurzen Einf\u00fchrung \u00fcber die jeweilige Kolonie sind Bev\u00f6lkerungszahlen, Bildungsberichte, Grundst\u00fccksgesch\u00e4fte, Import- und Exportzahlen sowie Gef\u00e4ngnisunterlagen \u00fcber Verbrechen zur damaligen Zeit ver\u00f6ffentlicht. For the most part these statistical records cover the years from 1839 to 1938, although some records commence from 1824 and others continue until 1950. The records for each colony are prefaced by a brief introduction to that colony. The population returns are published alongside education reports, while grants of land reveal who held the colonial wealth. Imports and exports are joined by prison records which reveal what the crimes were at that time.
As these records are published together, the reader can compare the living conditions and access to services across colonies.
