<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWissenschaftler*innen am Fachbereich Geowissenschaften und die Universit\u00e4tsbibliothek der Freien Universit\u00e4t arbeiten jetzt zusammen in der NFDI4Earth<\/a>. Akteure aus der Geochemie bauen eine sog. \u201eNFDI4Earth Interest Group\u201c auf, die die Standardisierung geochemischer Daten vorantreiben wird. Das Team Forschungsdatenmanagement der Universit\u00e4tsbibliothek arbeitet in einem Teilprojekt zu Anreiz- und Belohnungssystemen f\u00fcr \u201eFAIR and open\u201c Forschungsdatenmanagement-Praktiken in den Geowissenschaften. In der Arbeitsgruppe Wetter- und Klimaprozesse am Meteorologischen Institut werden die Arbeiten zur NFDI4Earth erst im Sommer 2022 beginnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NFDI4Earth hat die Arbeit im Herbst 2021 aufgenommen. Das Projekt wird von der deutschen Earth-System-Science-Community mit derzeit \u00fcber 50 Partnern aus Universit\u00e4ten, Forschungseinrichtungen, Infrastrukturanbietern und Beh\u00f6rden breit unterst\u00fctzt. NFDI4Earth hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren bestehende und zuk\u00fcnftige Strategien und Services f\u00fcr Forschungsdatenmanagement in den Geowissenschaften zu vereinheitlichen und an den Grunds\u00e4tzen von Offenheit und den FAIR-Prinzipien auszurichten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NFDI4Earth ist Teil der Nationalen Forschungsdateninfrastruktur<\/a> (NFDI). Die NFDI soll die Datenbest\u00e4nde von Wissenschaft und Forschung systematisch erschlie\u00dfen, nachhaltig sichern und zug\u00e4nglich machen sowie (inter-)national vernetzen. Sie wird in einem aus der Wissenschaft getriebenen Prozess als vernetzte Struktur eigeninitiativ agierender Konsortien aufgebaut werden. Stakeholders from the geochemistry group are setting up a so-called „NFDI4Earth Interest Group“, which will drive forward the standardisation of geochemical data. The Research Data Management team of the University Library is working in a sub-project on incentive and reward systems for „FAIR and open“ research data management practices in the geosciences. In the Weather and Climate Processes working group at the Meteorological Institute, work on NFDI4Earth will not start until summer 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NFDI4Earth started work in autumn 2021. The project is broadly supported by the German Earth system science community with currently more than 50 partners from universities, research institutions, infrastructure providers and public authorities. NFDI4Earth aims to standardise existing and future strategies and services for research data management in the Earth sciences over the next few years and align them with the principles of openness and the FAIR principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NFDI4Earth is part of the National Research Data Infrastructure Germany<\/a> (NFDI). The NFDI is intended to systematically develop, sustainably secure and make accessible the data holdings of science and research and to network them (inter)nationally. It will be established in a process driven by the scientific community as a networked structure of individual consortia.
