I’d be glad to assist recent arrivals with some very first steps in German. I have two years of professional experience teaching rapid immersion classes in the startup scene, and would be happy to offer the same or similar format either on campus or in the Neukölln/Kreuzberg area: German A1.1 within four days, course topics typically center on grocery shopping, finding an apartment, asking for assistance, dealing with German bureaucracy (Anmeldung etc.). Ideally, we’ll put together a small group of max. 10 strong learners (prior academic experience and basic English will be helpful). Science is free and has no borders. We, the physicists of the Freie Universität Berlin, want to offer physics students and scientists fleeing a war a chance to continue their professional qualifications at our department.

I am a student of AG Knaus and this weekend I will travel to the Ukrainian border for the third time to deliver aid supplies and bring refugees safely to Berlin.

If you want to donate, you can do so until Friday 18.03. noon in the seminar room of AG Knaus, Thielalle 63 or at Schöneberg Späti Stop Shop Hauptstraße 102, 10827 Berlin until Friday 18.03., 9 pm.

What is needed:

• NO CLOTHES 🙂 but

• non-perishable food
• First aid kit , medicines, bandages.
• Camping gas heaters/stoves, accessories
• WARM children’s and baby clothes, Baby food
• Sleeping bags, thermal blankets, camping mats
• Fresh women’s underwear and hygiene articles

• Please label bags/boxes with the contents in English or if possible already in Ukrainian separately medicines, food etc..

• Monetary donations are useful as we are in contact with local doctors and pharmacies. Food will also be bought locally again. Every euro helps.

Zwei Geowissenschaftler der FU Berlin organisieren in Zusammenarbeit mit der polnischen Caritas eine Spendensammlung für die Ukraine. Die FSGS beteiligt sich und sammelt bis kommenden Freitag, 12 Uhr, Sachspenden im Raum JK 33/121.

Es werden ausschließlich folgende Dinge benötigt:
– Thermoskannen
– Thermobecher
– Powerbanks (aufgeladen)
– Taschenlampen
– Batterien
– Schlafsäcke
– Isomatten
– Kissen
– Decken
– Verbandsmaterial
– Desinfektionsmittel
– Blasenpflaster
– Schmerzmittel

Alle Spenden werden am Freitagnachmittag in einen Bulli verladen und am Wochenende nach Polen gefahren. Wir freuen uns über weitere Beteiligung!
