{"id":95,"date":"2025-11-07T14:31:45","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T13:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.fu-berlin.de\/iss-project\/?p=95"},"modified":"2025-11-07T14:32:49","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T13:32:49","slug":"new-publication-out-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.fu-berlin.de\/iss-project\/2025\/11\/07\/new-publication-out-now\/","title":{"rendered":"New publication out now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I&#8217;m delighted to announce that my chapter on &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/978-3-031-77876-6_8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Geomorphology of the City of Berlin<\/a>&#8220; is out now in the book &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/978-3-031-77876-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Landscapes and Landforms of Germany<\/a>&#8220; edited by F. Lehmkuhl, M. B\u00f6se, and M. Krautblatter. It makes me happy having contributed to the <em>World Geomorphological Landscapes<\/em> Series, especially as some of the books in this series, especially those about Ethiopia and Afar, have been incredibly helpful to me in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My chapter about Berlin outlines the general geological, geochronological and geomorphological framework of the city area, highlighting several exemplary landscape features. The text goes on to discuss some examples of young salt movements, such as in L\u00fcbars, where the salt has pushed Oligocene clays to the surface and where also some surface cracks can be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve also co-authored a chapter on the &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/978-3-031-77876-6_10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Morphological Transformation of the Landscape in Lower Lusatia by Opencast Mining<\/a>&#8220; in the same series together with Margot B\u00f6se.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hardt, J.
