The start date is negotiable, yet sometime between November 2021 \u2013 January 2022 is preferred.<\/p>\n<p>The research project aims to unravel the intracellular trafficking of the Cas9 protein which is a key component of CRISPR-based gene editing. This project is part of a bigger project that aims for the development of an in-situ gene therapy using CRISPR-Cas-based approaches as a new treatment option for severe monogenic skin diseases. Applicants ideally have some experience in cell culture and biomolecular methods. Experience with primary cells, gene therapy, and\/or non-viral gene delivery are considered assets.Further key qualifications are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Very good written and verbal communication skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Personal attributes of an ideal team member: high level of honesty and integrity, robust work ethic and accountability, demonstrated initiative, adaptability in a rapidly changing landscape, a creative and curious problem-solver, commitment to engendering a harmonious work environment and strong emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidates will work closely with another team member on this project. Applicants should have a BSc degree or similar in biomedical engineering, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field.<br \/>\nThe Hedtrich lab is a young and enthusiastic group looking for people willing to shape an innovative research line at the Charit\u00e9\/BIH. Our focus is on drug delivery and nanomedicine, and we are strongly involved in the development of new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of severe monogenic diseases of human epithelia.
