A = K. 3198 (BAM 475)
– The introductory incantation has been part of the ritual-therapeutic series Muššuʾu (see Böck, Muššuʾu (2007), 167 IVh) as well as the incantation-collection SAG.GIG.GA tbl. 7 (see Böck Muššuʾu (2007), 24 and 31ff.)[1]
– the incantations mentioned at the beginning, which are in other texts mostly used against witchcraft as well as paralysis and ghosts, hint on the possible ascription of certain fragments which are concerned with šimmatu as belonging to this particular section of the NMS (79-7-8, 201 (AMT 92,6), 70-7-8, 86 (AMT 52, 5, dupl. K. 16421), K. 2497 + K. 9692 + K. 20179 + K. 13463 (AMT 37/5 + AMT 92/4 + AMT 92/9), K. 3305+ (Böck, Muššuʾu, plate XVIII-XIV), K. 7098+ (Böck, Muššuʾu, plate XVIII-XIV) as well as K. 8449 (AMT 93/3) (with certain similarities to K. 2752 which might possibly be a fragment of NECK 3))
– although some of the fragments concerned with šimmatu might likewise belong to the HAMSTRING-section of the NMS; especially K. 2426 is uncertain since it mentions several times, next to a šimmatu-incantation, treatments against vomiting and hint therefore on a possible context of STOMACH or ABDOMEN

[1] Furthermore, the text BM 42272 obv 22 cites the incantation incipit within a treatment against “curse” (NAM.ÉRIM). See Scurlock (2014), text 2.14.1 and Bácskay (2015), 5 and 11f.
[2] See Böck, Muššuʾu (2007), 167 (see for instance BAM 338). Cf. for this incantation likewise BAM 159 iii 32, BM 42272 obv 22 and SpTU 1, 60 rev 15‘ (against zikurrudû). For the reconstruction of the second incantation cf. the wording of the incantation given in Böck, Muššuʾu (2007), 167f. The second incantation is likewise attested in BAM 471:42’ (NECK 1 or 2).
