However, you may want to use the time to get started on the first writing assignment. So here it is:<\/p>\n<p>With reference to the first texts discussed in the first three sessions, discuss ONE of the following statements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resistance is not just possible but unavoidable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p><strong>The concept of the subject precludes the idea of a &#8220;human nature&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your answer should be between 1000 and 1500 words in length. You may use further sources if you wish. Make sure ALL ideas that are not your own are properly referenced and a complete and formally correct list of references is included. Send your paper as a PDF file to me by<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Friday, May 20th<\/span><\/strong>, before our session.<\/p>\n<p>You are unsure what DISCUSS means? This phrase is used in the British\/American academic system for the task of finding arguments and counterarguments to the formulated statement and conclude from there to the appropriateness of the statement.
