Oral Storytelling and Kalīla wa-Dimna — Hamza Al-Aqrabawi

Oral story telling is alive still, and the interaction with Kalīla wa-Dimna is pronounced. Palestinian storyteller Hamza Al-Aqrabawi, interviewed by Heba Tebakhi (FSGS), tells three stories that belong to the reportoire of oral tales in the Palestinian tradition, which have their origins in the book of Kalīla wa-Dimna.

Below, three tales—in addition to a creative prologue by the storyteller himself—have been chosen to represent the wealth of tales the Palestenian oral tradition offers.

Prologue & The Tale of the Monkeys and the Firefly

The Tale of the Lioness and Her Cubs

The Tale of the Lion and the Camel
