You will work in groups of ~3 students. You will design a user interface (high fidelity prototype) for a very specific user group solving a very specific problem. Furthermore, you will use a human-centered design process and a selection of HCI methods to develop your project.
How to select or find a project?
Please stick to the following requirements when collecting project ideas:
- You need to have access to the target audience.
- All people are not a target audience.
- You need to be sure, that at least one person (belonging to that target audience) is willing to talk to you several times about his or her work, hobby, occupation, etc.
- This person shall not be a fellow student or yourself.
- This person shall not be a student of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Prototyping or creating games (or quizzes) are not allowed.
- You need to solve a meaningful problem (at least for that person).
- Your problem should not be trivial. E.g. developing a to-do list is too trivial.
- In the end, the problem should be solved by a mobile or web application.
- The domain or the context needs to be also new to you.
- Do you need data? Does the data exist or do you need to invent or collect the data? If the data does not exist yet, then it’s not the best option for a project.
