This page summarises the tools we will use in the course.
Whiteboard
Weekly announcements are sent to all course participants. These include a brief wrap-up of the current week and a preview of what will happen in the next week. Announcements also appear on the news blog.
The registration for the exam is also done via whiteboard.
The assignments are not handed in in Whiteboard, but you will receive the points and feedback for them in Whiteboard. You will always have an overview of your points in the gradebook.
FU Blog
The FU Blog is used for course organization. All lecture content and course materials will be posted here. Your exercise sheets will be submitted here in the form of blogposts. There is a separate blog for each project or team.
Mattermost
For unofficial instant communication we use Mattermost. There is a team called HCI 1 SoSe 2021.
vBrick
The videos for the lecture are provided via the FU video platform vBrick. There is a channel where all videos are provided collectively.
BigBlueButton
For collaborative work in the exercises, we will use the BigBlueButton (BBB) instance of the Department of Earth Sciences. There will be a room for the exercises and the learning room.
Tools for collaborative work
- Etherpad: For collaborative work in the exercises, we use spline’s Etherpad. At least when it comes to text-only work.
- Flinga: If we need a whiteboard, we will use Flinga. It offers whiteboards to create mindmaps, for example, and a wall to collect questions.
- InVision: If we ever need a whiteboard that can do something more (for example, where you can draw), we will use InVision Freehand. Here is an example: https://projects.invisionapp.com/freehand/document/d7oa8q6xO
