The Library Starter Kit – Your Tailor-Made Introduction to Library Services

In the name of the entire library staff, we would like to extend a warm welcome to Freie Universität Berlin and congratulate you on your new position! To ease your transition into teaching and research at our university and help you make the best start possible, we have put together a Library Starter Kit. This is aimed at providing all newly appointed university professors with (an initial) insight into working with Freie Universität libraries.

Based on your individual needs, we can provide you with more information on these services in a personal consultation – in German or in English – and help map out the personalized support options available to you from the university library. In the consultation, you will meet your special library contact person for your research area, as well as other colleagues that will be able to support you in specific areas of your day-to-day life at Freie Universität. We are also happy to take a look at organizing an additional budget that you can use to make a personal project a reality in collaboration with the university library.

We can also combine a consultation with a personalized tour through the departmental library relevant to your field of study. If you would be interested in a tour, please mention this when filling out the request for an individual consultation. You are also welcome to bring someone from your team with you on the tour.
