Seit einer Woche bin ich nun in Spanien unterwegs. Die Wochen davor hatte ich das Glück Südfrankreich während der Lavendelblüte genießen zu können – ein Traum in lila!
Hier ein paar Bilder der letzten Wochen – da ich die meiste Zeit in Museen verbracht habe, sind es aus Südfrankreich vor allem Landschaftsaufnahmen, aber das ist zur Abwechslung ja auch mal ganz nett:

Und dann hatte ich noch das Glück, dass die Tour de France gerade „in der Gegend war“, so dass ich die Tour hautnah miterleben konnte:

Da ich direkt am Straßenrand stand hätte mich die Welle der Radfahrer fast hinweg gefegt, die Wucht der ganzen radelnden Gruppe ist unbeschreiblich.
In Carcassonne

Von Carcassonne aus ging es nach Tautavel – einem für Paläolithiker recht wichtigen Ort, da dort Knochen von Homo erectus (in Tautavel ca. 450 000 vor heute), einem unserer ganz frühen Vorfahren gefunden wurden. Leider durfte man auch dort im Museum nicht fotografieren, daher hier nur ein paar Impressionen von der Landschaft.

Von Südfrankreich ging es weiter nach Spanien, wo wir zuerst das DAI Madrid angesteuert und uns in der Hauptstadt ein wenig umgesehen haben. Die archäologischen Funde und Fundstellen Spaniens wirken auf den ersten Blick wie eine andere Welt und doch erkennt man vieles wieder, mal sehen welchen Eindruck ich am Ende der Reise gewonnen habe. Spannend ist zum einen, dass man Dinge wieder erkennt, die man genauso oder so ähnlich in der mitteleuropäischen Vorgeschichte antrifft, gleichzeitig findet man aber auch immer wieder und in ganz verschiedenen Epochen Einflüsse aus dem östlichen Mittelmeerraum. Die Phönizier waren hier, die Punier, die Griechen und die Römer und später natürlich die Mauren…und alle haben ihre Spuren hinterlassen
Im Archäologischen Nationalmuseum Madrid durfte man wieder fotografieren, aber leider wird die Ausstellung gerade neu aufgebaut, so dass nur wenige Stücke zu sehen sind.

Gestern haben wir uns eine der vielen befestigten Höhensiedlungen – Castros – aus der Eisenzeit angeschaut. Wir waren in Ulaca. Dort gab es viel zu entdecken – Befestigungsmauern, Hausgrundrisse, einen Steinbruch, ein Gebäude das als Rest einer „Sauna“ interpretiert wird und einen Fels, aus dem verschiedene Stufen herausgearbeitet worden sind, wo „Opfer“ stattgefunden haben sollen…ach ja und wir waren nicht allein, immer wieder sind wir auf kleinere Gruppen von Geiern getroffen, die offensichtlich auf ihr Mittagessen warteten…

Eisenzeitliche Steinskulptur in Villaviciosa - Stier
Und dann ist mir noch was recht faszinierendes begegnet – Steinskulpturen aus der Eisenzeit (3./2. Jh. v. Chr.), die noch heute auf Markt- und Kirchplätzen zu finden sind. Dargestellt sind in der Regel Stiere und man nennt diese Skulpturen „Verracos“. Sie sind typisch für Zentralspanien und werden der eisenzeitlichen Bevölkerung (vetones) in dieser Region zugeschrieben.
Das war erst der Anfang meiner Spanienreise – dem ersten Eindruck nach erwarten mich noch sehr spannende Dinge, über die ich bald berichten werde…
