As November 6th is fast approaching, it might be high time to get (re-)acquainted with the basics of the American electoral system. The Economist has a short but informative online movie on the subject.
There is, of course, a wealth of other information material out there. Here are some of the most trustworthy and up-to-date sources:
The New York Times has a wide variety of interactive maps that are updated regularly.
The same goes for the Washington Post,
…which also offers a concise and interesting overview of campaign spending in the individual states.
The arguably most relevant poll for the upcoming election is the so-called „Purple Poll“ which tracks swing states sentiments, but is only released about once a month.
One of the best sources for statistics and interpretations thereof is the NY Times FiveThirtyEight Blog.
And last but not least, for fans of online radio, NPR offers a wide range of political coverage at: https://www.npr.org/sections/elections/

EDIT:
Kleins Wonkblog (https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/)
empfehlen.
Transcripts aller Debatten gearbeitet – sehr lesenswert!
