Staff Training in Poland

Krakau, Poland. 22.01.-26.01.2024

In only five days I felt immersed into the capturing story of the Jagiellonian University, the vivid and breathtaking town of Krakow, its absorbing history and heritge, and its very tasty Polish „cuisine“ (even vegetarian). Under the theme of „sustainability“ I had the great chance to meet staff at Jagiellonian University from different departments involved: the Centre for Advanced Sustainability Studies, the Centre for Analysis of Public Policies and the Climate Council.

The visit sparked new ideas which I will share at my home university and offered the opportunity to network for a longer-term exchange of experiences. It was inspiring to see how others do certain things more efficiently or differently and it was reassuring to see that other struggle with similar challenges. It was great that my hosting university arranged for three matching partners to visit at the same time! This way we could exchange experiences between Krakow, Dublin, Madrid and Belrin. I thorougly enjoyed my stay and feel enriched, on a personal and vocational level. In addition, I feel motivated to get more involved in UNA Europa as I fully support its vision.
