Well-known Assyriologist Stefan M. Maul (University of Heidelberg) will present the concluding lecture of the „Fifth Dahlem Seminar On The History Of Science In Antiquity“ on February 10, 2015.
Maul’s influential work includes editions of Sumerian penitential psalms Herzberuhigungsklagen, 1988), of Assyro-Babylonian rituals to avert negative omens (Zukunftsbewältigung, 1994), as well as studies of various aspects of Mesopotamian scholarly literature. He is the director of the DFG-funded project „Assur-Forschungsstelle der Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften“, concerned with the edition of the literary and scholarly texts from Assur. The title of Maul’s lecture is „Etymographische Keilschriftkommentare und deren geistesgeschichtliche Grundlagen“.
