Taina Alves, University of Namibia – August 2025
This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to spend a week at the University of Namibia (UNAM) through the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility program. I taught undergraduate students in International Relations for a week, and their high level of participation in the classroom led to rich conversations. The campus itself is modern, well-equipped, and conducive to both learning and collaboration.

I had the chance to expand my professional network by connecting with local colleagues and professors. Overall, meeting colleagues, experiencing Namibian hospitality, and learning about African regionalism from an insider’s perspective gave me fresh insights for my research and teaching back home. I also took time to explore Windhoek and its surroundings, which made the trip even more special.
It was a great experience that I can only recommend. It has improved my teaching experience, given me new skills for working in environments with different points of view, broadened my networks, and given me new insights into a rich, diverse country.
