Ab dem 1. Juni 2026 gelten in der Zentralbibliothek (Garystr. 39) von Montag bis Freitag einheitliche Öffnungszeiten für alle Servicebereiche. Der Lesesaal im 2. Stock passt sich damit der bisherigen Öffnungszeit der Leihstelle im 1. Stock an. Ab sofort können Sie die Arbeitsplätze im Hauptlesesaal, Coworking-Space, in den Gruppenarbeitsräumen mit Webex-Boards („Labs“) und Studienkabinen durchgehend Montag bis Freitag von 9 bis 20 Uhr nutzen.
Die Lesesaal-Auskunft konzentriert ihr Serviceangebot künftig auf den Zeitraum von 12 bis 16 Uhr. Vormittags von 9 bis 12 Uhr steht Ihnen das Auskunftsteam als mobiler Beratungsservice zur Verfügung.
Die im Lesesaal bereitgestellten Medien können durchgehend von 9 bis 20 Uhr ausgeliehen werden.
Gleichzeitig arbeiten wir am Ausbau unseres Schulungs- und Beratungsangebots.
Alle Änderungen auf einen Blick:
- Alle Servicebereiche der Zentralbibliothek inklusive des Lesesaals sind Mo–Fr durchgehend von 9 bis 20 Uhr geöffnet.
- Veränderte Servicezeiten im Lesesaal:
- 9–12 Uhr: Mobiler Beratungsservice – das Team der Auskunft & Teaching Library hilft Ihnen gerne weiter und steht auf Abruf für Sie bereit.
- 12–16 Uhr: Vollumfänglicher Service vor Ort wie bisher
- 16–20 Uhr:
- Die Mitarbeitenden des Sicherheitsdienstes übernehmen die Erstinformation, die Ausgabe und Rückgabe der Schlüssel für Studienkabinen und Dauerschließfächer sowie von Workshop-Equipment.
- Die Ausleihe von bereitgestellten Bestellungen ist im gesamten Zeitraum von 9 bis 20 Uhr möglich.

Central Library: New Opening Hours and Service Times for the Reading Room
Starting June 1, 2026, the Central Library (Garystr. 39) will have uniform opening hours for all service areas from Monday through Friday. The reading room on the 2nd floor will thus align with the current opening hours of the circulation desk on the 1st floor. Effective immediately, you can use the workstations in the main reading room, the coworking space, the group study rooms with Webex boards (“Labs”), and the study booths Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM.
Effective immediately, the Reading Room Information Desk will limit its services to the hours of 12 PM to 4 PM. In the mornings, from 9 AM to 12 PM, the information team will be available as a mobile reference service.
Media available in the reading room may be borrowed at any time between 9 AM and 8 PM.
At the same time, we are working to expand our training and consulting services.
All changes at a glance:
- All areas of the Central Library, including the reading room, are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM.
- Changed service hours in the reading room:
- 9 AM – 12 PM: Mobile Help Desk – the Information & Teaching Library team is happy to assist you and is available on call.
- 12 PM – 4 PM: Full on-site service as usual
- 4 PM – 8 PM:
- Security staff are responsible for providing initial information and for issuing and collecting keys for study booths and long-term lockers, as well as for workshop equipment.
- Items that have been reserved can be picked up anytime between 9 AM and 8 PM.
